Long Road Warehouse warehousing services facility in Kent, WA

WAREHOUSING SERVICES

Warehousing services, drayage and fulfillment run out of one Kent Valley building, minutes from the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma.

What warehousing services actually cover

"Warehousing services" is a broad label, and providers use it to mean very different things. At the narrow end it is a room with a roof and a monthly rate per pallet. At the wide end it is everything that happens to your freight between the ship and your customer. Ours is the wide end, and the parts break down like this:

  • Receiving and put-away — freight counted against the paperwork at the tail of the truck, then racked where it can be found again.
  • Storage — by the pallet, by the month, scaled up for peak and back down after. See warehouse storage.
  • Container handlingdrayage from the terminal, then transloading or devanning at the dock.
  • Order fulfillmentpick, pack and ship, including Amazon FBA prep.
  • Freight outLTL, FTL and local delivery, plus cross docking when nothing needs to be stored at all.
  • Everything around the edgesreturns, inspection, crating, labelling and kitting.

Why one building matters

Most importers end up with a drayage company, a warehouse and a fulfillment provider who have never spoken to each other. Every handoff between them is a place where a container waits — and a waiting container is metering demurrage at the terminal or per-diem on the street.

We run the pull, the yard, the dock door and the racking as one operation, minutes from both the Port of Seattle and the Port of Tacoma. That is not a philosophy, it is arithmetic: the box comes off the chassis the day it lands, so the free days do not get burned in the gap between two vendors. You can see what that gap costs with our demurrage calculator.

How it gets priced

Warehousing quotes are built from the same handful of components everywhere — receiving per pallet, storage per pallet per month, a pick fee plus a per-item fee, and outbound freight at cost. What varies is how many of them are disclosed up front. Ours are laid out on the pricing page, and the cost breakdown explains what drives each one.

Who this suits — and who it does not

This works well if you import containers through Seattle or Tacoma, need the goods stored or shipped onward, and would rather deal with one company than three. It works especially well for freight that is heavy, oversized or awkward, because we already run the equipment for it.

It is a poor fit if you need a national fulfillment network with warehouses on both coasts — we are one building in the Kent Valley, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Common questions

What is included in warehousing services?

Receiving and put-away, storage by the pallet, order fulfillment, and outbound freight - plus the container side if you import: drayage from the terminal, transloading or devanning at the dock, and the empty returned. Value-added work like FBA prep, inspection, crating, labelling and returns processing sits on top.

How much do warehousing services cost?

Quotes are built from receiving per pallet, storage per pallet per month, a pick fee plus a per-item fee, and outbound freight at cost. The variable that moves a quote most is not the rate card - it is how long freight sits and how many times it gets handled.

Do you handle import containers as well as warehousing?

Yes. Drayage, transloading and warehousing run as one operation from the same Kent, WA building, minutes from the Ports of Seattle and Tacoma. That matters because the free days on a container are usually burned in the handoff between separate vendors.

What areas do you serve?

The Kent Valley and the wider Puget Sound - Kent, Auburn, Federal Way, Renton, Tacoma and Seattle - with outbound freight across Washington and the Pacific Northwest. We are one facility, not a national network.
